A very long silence.

It has been eight months since my last post. I have to admit I have been lazy, but also very busy. Plus I am still debating which should be the first language of this blog.
Most of my readers are from around the world, so it would make sense to keep blogging in English and it would also be a good exercise for me. But Italian is my main language and I get it that some Italians don’t speak English (time to learn maybe?). But most importantly, I am not sure I am still that fluent in English to write a full post… 😛

Anyway, a lot has happened in the past year, since I moved back to Italy. From buying an apartment (yay!), to having a new job. I also lost someone very important to me, but I am not sure I’d like to write about that yet.

The apartment adventure has been a rollercoaster of emotions.
We were looking but not really looking, it was more like “Oh, this place looks nice, why don’t we go and have a look?”. And so we did and find a place that we thought would be the right one for us. This happened back in March and after a certain amount of paperworks, signatures and a mortgage, we got our apartment on the 13th of June!
We didn’t really know how much we would have to work to get the apartment sorted…
Two and a half months later, we currently live in our new home but we still miss some furniture (two months for the sofa, really?) and we need to work on the last touch ups.
But, last night, for the first time, I have realised that we have our own place and it’s a feeling I can’t describe.

I can’t believe in just one year my life changed completely. I do remember my London life and I have to say I don’t really miss it. But there are things I do miss about London, like the city itself, for its restaurants, its busy life with the shopping streets and my neighbourhoods. And also couple of friends that still live there.

I think part of what happened was already written. We do have the free will to act on some topics but some other things are out of our control. This is why we must enjoy every single day and what it brings.

I will leave you with a picture of the house (thanks Pinterest for the idea!).

I promise I’ll come back sooner than in the next eight months. 🙂
