Rookery Manor is a lovely location for a wedding.
This is the place that my friends picked, less than an hour from Bristol and with such a beautiful garden to take the wedding pictures. It was sunny enough to have a very good photo shot with family and friends.
I arrived in Bristol on Thursday evening and booked a room on airbnb.com couple of months ago. It was my second time using airbnb (the first time was in NYC in 2012) and I had a very pleasant experience. The room was tidy and spacious in a wonderful and well decorated house, not even mentioning the couple: two lovely people.
The Jamaican wedding took place on Friday morning, it started at 12pm and it was pretty much Italian style in length, if we consider that I spent 12 hours celebrating the couple. The ceremony was totally different tho, nor better or worse, just not as I know it and it’s been beautiful being part of it, with people singing to celebrate Jesus.
During the ceremony, a passage from the Corinthians caught my attention:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. […]”
Love never fails. And it is what moves the world, I will add.
The newly married couple exited the church dancing, like in the movies. They are two beautiful soul that are the perfect match and seeing them so happy almost made me cry. You didn’t expect me to be so emotional, did you. 🙂
After the ceremony we all went to Rookery Manor as said and we took plenty of pics… ready?
Aren’t they beautiful? Her dress was very fairy tale style!
We spent the evening dancing, with me trying to learn some Caribbean moves… not sure it worked out well! Anyway, it has been a wonderful day, celebrating Ryan and Jodi.
And, unless some of my friends decide to get married with a very short notice, that should be it for the wedding season.
Since I was in Bristol, I then decided to visit Bath which is like 15 minutes away by train. I have never been and everybody kept saying how lovely it was, and they were right.
I am just going to show you a preview with couple of pictures and as soon as I get the cable to download the pics from the camera, I will write all about it in another post.
Stay tuned for more pics and news from Bath!
